    Why do I have to use additional plugin which provides useless options?

    Social provides the connection to Twitter since Twitter now requires OAuth. It also provides improved broadcasting (a feature that used to be in Twitter Tools).

    Do one thing and do it well, leverage other tools that are complimentary.
