Twitter Tools Error in 2.8.1

  • Hi there,

    Since the upgrade to 2.8.1, I am getting this error.

    Sorry, login failed. Error message from Twitter: Rate limit exceeded. Clients may not make more than 150 requests per hour.

    Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? I am making about one blog entry per day.

  • I had the same problem on one of my sites and solved it by deactivating the apps “connecting” to the twitter account in my twitter account settings and waiting for an hour.

    The culprit for me was “We Follow”. As soon as I disconnected it and waited for a a bit – everything started working again with twitter.

    (And this was after it was not working for months!)

    I have done everything from activate to deactivate, delete to reinstall and still have this same issue. Any ideas?
