This used to work before, but I don’t know when it changed.

I have Facebook and Twitter enabled to auto post every time a new post gets published. I usually write posts for the whole month with a future date. I don’t have any problems with Facebook, but auto posting to Twitter doesn’t work. Also in the log there is nothing that shows that there is an error sending the post.

When I go to the post I can manually post it on Twitter by clicking the button.

    Any ideas?

These are my last two auto posts. I had to do Twitter manually. When I do it manually there is no problem. Only Twitter auto-posting isn’t working.

    What version do you have?

    Thread Starter Wendihihihi

    (@wendihihihi)

3.6.2, I think I upgraded it this morning.

The log is for the previous version. I also keep the plugins up-to-date.

So do you still have the issue with 3.6.2?

    Thread Starter Wendihihihi

    (@wendihihihi)

I’ll know on Tuesday. There are auto-posts every Tuesday and Friday.

I checked the Twitter settings and refilled the keys and saved them. See if that works.

After the update to 3.6.2 Facebook also stopped auto-posting. Errors are below. I didn’t change anything in the Facebook settings or exclude categories. It’s becoming a bit of a mess…

And how about this one in the logs…

    Filter Post Type(Autopost Only): post| | Post Type: nav_menu_item
    [2016-05-21 08:41:56] - [*** ID: 5734, Type: nav_menu_item] - Status Changed: draft_to_publish. Autopost requested.

There is no post type named Nav_menu_item…

    I think I added a class tag to a menu category…

    1. There are no errors in your log. Your post was excluded from autoposting because you deliberately ask plugin NOT to post it.

You have EXCLUDED categories: Ayam | Bakar | Buka puasa

Your post has assigned to categories Ayam|Buka puasa|Camilan|Hidangan sehari-hari|Poll Pedas|Praktis|Resep

TWO of them “Ayam” and “Buka puasa” are EXCLUDED.

    2. nav_menu_item is a standard WordPress internal custom post type.

    (@wendihihihi)

As I said before: I didn’t change anything in the Facebook settings or exclude categories. I came there probably after the previous update.

I’ll see again on Friday if anything will be posted.

    Plugin Author NextScripts

    (@nextscripts)

Nothing will be posted if you keep your current settings.

Please go to the plguin settings tab -> Filters and either remove all categories from “excluded” list or setup only categories that you really need NOT to be posted.

    Thread Starter Wendihihihi

    (@wendihihihi)

Whe I noticed they were there I immediately removed them. Now on version 2.6.3. Both Facebook and Twitter are ticked in the post. No categories are excluded. See what it does on Friday…

    Thread Starter Wendihihihi

    (@wendihihihi)

Facebook posted this time, but Twitter not. No trace in the logs either. I doubled checked everything before the auto-posting.

I took screenshots of all settings before the auto-post. If you give me an email address I will send it to you.

    Plugin Author NextScripts

    (@nextscripts)

You can send screenshot to [email protected] or just paste it to https://snag.gy/ and give me the link to it.

I just wrote and published a post. The post was published on Twitter and Facebook correctly.

I will write another post today and will publish it on Friday. If that one goes well we can close this topic. But I have the feeling that auto-posting goes wrong with future dates.

    From above,
    2. nav_menu_item is a standard WordPress internal custom post type.

I am having an issue with nav_menu_item as well. When I create a new navigation menu item, it posts to Twitter as a link. I never want nav_menu_item instances to repost. It’s simply a menu change on my site. I only want actual blog posts to autopost to Twitter. How can I change that setting?
