I have updated to the newest version of jetpack, 5.6, and while checking on something unrelated, I realized the twitter widget is not functioning. The link that says ‘My Tweets’ is there, but nothing appears below it. I’m not sure when this began happening, or what initially caused it, sorry I couldn’t provide more help on that front.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Are you using Firefox?

If so, that is most likely due to the browser’s built-in Tracking Protection:

If you use Chrome to view the site, you should be able to view the full widget.

    We hope that helps!

I was using Safari, but yes, the widget does display in Chrome. So it that all there is to it, it only works in Chrome? Seems like that should be noted pretty prominently somewhere…

I do appreciate your help tho @pmciano

We can see the widget in Safari, too.

Are you using any Content Blockers/Extensions with Safari? If so, try temporarily disabling them or whitelisting the resource in question.

And you’re very welcome for the assistance!

I’ve disabled all the plug-ins on Safari, but it still doesn’t appear. I have checked it from other devices and it does appear, so I guess that’s good enough. Is there a way to keep the header from displaying if the timeline itself doesn’t? I’m fine with it not displaying, as long as it doesn’t appear “broken” as it does now.

And thanks again, I hope one day I can provide some insight on a problem you may have!

It’s still loading fine for us in Safari. Did you try clearing the browser’s cache, as well?

You may be able to use conditional code that determines whether or not the widget displays based on the browser type, but that will require a custom solution.

If you need assistance with these types of modifications, we suggest looking into a service that can help you customize your site, such as the WordPress Professional Network:

Keep in mind, in Firefox, the widget is not broken, it just does not load all the content from Twitter. A visitor can still select the link in the widget to view your tweets on Twitter.

Well, I would argue that a widget who’s job is to display tweets being reduced to just a link that says “view on twitter” is, in fact, “broken” but I understand there’s nothing we can do about that.

All that said, I’ve decided to just remove the element. Any widget that’s this prone to not functioning correctly is not worth having on my site. Thanks again for all the help with this, sorry to have wasted everyone’s time in the end.
