Twitter login via Widget gets stuck on white page

Twitter login via widget doesn’t work as expected. The webpage goes completely white and the browser tag flickers and gets stuck at the url:
The Twitter user gets logged in, but he has to back the browser manually to get rid of the stuck white page.
Login redirection is set to “Same page where user logged in”.
