Twitter Embeds Not Working

What exactly are you embedding and how?

Note that Twitter now (as of like 2 days ago or so) requires login to view even public profiles.

It’s not clear if this is a temporary measure to deal with the “data pillaging” mentioned in the linked article, or if this is here to stay.

But until this is changed, this means embedding Twitter profiles via oEmbed will no longer work. Plugins that make API calls to Twitter should continue to work, and embedding individual tweets via oEmbed still works.

Hello George and thanks for taking the time out to address this issue which I am absolutely shocked by!

i am referring to adding Twitter feeds in posts and pages via the WP twitter block which no longer renders

My main site is based on profile pages similiar to about.me and linktr.ee e.g my site.com/usepagename and now the tweets no longer show up so you can’t be updated with what that persons is doing

i am without words and just trying to deal with this dramatic removal of a vital service

P.s Do you know what the WordPress engineers.are saying about this?

Yeah, none of my Twitter timelines showing my tweets works in WordPress or outside of WordPress on my main site. It’s not even working on Twitter’s own page: https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/twitter-for-websites/timelines/guides/profile-timeline

I am logged into Twitter itself so that’s not an issue. For now, I’ve just disabled it wherever I had it. Just have to wait and see if they turn it back on I guess.
