Twitter counter not working

Yes, the reason is that twitter has shut down the twitter count publically but we are able to return it with some tricks:

Your clients must register on newsharecounts.com with their twitter account. Mashshare is showing than the twitter count.

MashShare is using the newsharecount api to get twitter shares;)
There is no other way to get the twitter shares at the moment. You will see that all other social media plugins also integrate the ns api.

I have attempted to follow the instructions below with no luck.

I am meant to be seeing a share counts section in general setting so I can enable the MashEngine(including twitter count) but am not. Instead I am seeing Cache Method, Cache expiration, Facebook count, cumulate Http(s) shares, Fake share count etc.

Do I have to download another plugin to get this working or am I missing something very obvious?

I’m currrently running Mashshare Version 3.2.5

MashEngine is the default share engine so this is all fine.

Right, ok. Feel like I’m back to square one really as I followed all the steps of https://docs.mashshare.net/article/8-shares-are-not-updating-or-not-accurate a couple days ago with no luck fixing the share count.

The tweets are being shared but are not showing up with sharedcount.com, on our mashshare twitter counter or even in the backend next to each post. Do you know how this issue can be resolved or whats causing these strange results?

When you just registered today for newsharecount your old tries had no chance to be successful;)

Use this link and change the url path your a url of your site https://public.newsharecounts.com/count.json?url=https://yourwebsite.com/post/

So you can check first the twitter share count. If you notice there another number than mashshare is showing just add the paramater /?mashsb-refresh to end of the url of that specific post and also make sure that your page cache is deleted. If this still not resolves your issue let me know url of this page and i check it.
