Just upgraded and set the latest version of Social to pull comments from twitter and it does but, after I approve them, they do not display in the comments section of the blog.

Strange that the comment looks like any other comment in the admin but, when I approve it, it does not display… why?

I am still using my own custom comments section but, I would think that these comments would display like any other. Instead, the blog post page says 1 response but, nothing is displayed. Its like WordPress knows the comment is there but, wont display it.

Thanks in advance. I looked through the last couple of months of support requests but didn’t noticed anything that looked like an answer to my question.

Is there an issue with a plugin that will soon be fixed in an update? I am wondering if the lack of response is do to an immanent fix which is in the works.

I have the exact same issue. I’m on the latest WordPress + Thesis + Social/my own comments. Facebook comments do show up in my admin, and they are counted in the total number of comments on the frontend, but are not shown there. So annoying, because everything else works ??

If you’re using your own custom comment display, you’re in charge of making sure the code shows the comments you want.

I am cool with that but, I didn’t see any info in the notes about how to do it.

Seems strange since the comments appear to be the same and display in the admin. Why wouldn’t they display in the blog post?

I see now that the type in the DB is social-twitter-rt, social-twitter, and social-facebook. Its too bad these comments aren’t treated as regular comments so that they are posted when approved.

Can I ask, is there a technical reason for that?

If only there was some sample code that shipped with the plugin that showed the comments…

Maybe your template use filters to display comments and pingbacks separately and this causes this type to not be displayed.

Search for wp_list_comments in your template code. If it uses "type=comment", change this to "type=all" to display all types of comments.

    This was solved for me.

    Greetings.
