Hi. I changed the settings on how I want links to display on Twitter. I have selected Summary with Large Image. However, I’m still seeing the other summary version. What am I doing wrong?

    Thank you.

Was the link previously shared on Twitter? Twitter can cache URLs which have been previously posted. This means they will not check your URLs for changes until the cache expires. Unfortunately, you cannot force Twitter to clear the cache of an URL and there is no way to determine when it will get updated. However, there is a workaround by adding query strings to your URLs. Thus, when adding them, Twitter will consider them new URLs and will scrape the page for tags instead of using the cached ones.

For example, if you wanted to post on Twitter this URL https://yourwebsite.com/your-page/, but it’s already cached and it does not show the updates you have made, then you can post it as https://yourwebsite.com/your-page/?utm_source=twitter. You can add any other query string, we are using this one as it’s also a valid URL parameter for Google Analytics.

    Thanks for responding.

The link was not previously shared on Twitter, and it’s happening with every post that I wanted to share. I just included one example here.

I’m also having issues sharing things to Facebook. I include the link and the preview is just the logo from my website.

    Thanks again.

After reviewing the code for your site, you are outputting multiple copies of the Twitter tags. This can cause problems when sharing content on social media sites.

The additional set of tag starts with <!-- twitter card tags -->

Please disable plugins or theme functions that add additional tags. If you are unsure what is adding the additional tags, please run a conflict check following the steps here: How To Check For Plugin Conflicts
