Twitter authentication error

After creating the Consumer key at dev.twitter.com and inputting the key and shared secret in the plugin’s settings, it doesn’t authenticate and I get the following error:
Error: <?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″?> <hash> <error>Desktop applications only support the oauth_callback value ‘oob'</error> <request>/oauth/request_token</request> </hash>
