Twentyten alternate way for left sidebar?

Just wondering if anyone knows of a different way to display a sidebar on the left in TwentyTen theme without doing anything to the #container css.

Or, is there anyway I can define my own #container for a loop file? I see it in the index.php, so if I change it there, it will cause all my post layouts containers to change.
