• The site was originally installed back in 2015 and has been working perfectly until today, when the bottom right post in the Featured grid disappeared. The post itself is still there with all its original settings. The post url is https://tucsonastronomy.org/media-2/.

I tried trashing the post and creating a new one. Out of curiosity, I gave it the current date. That caused it to take the top left space in the grid (which indicates to me that it’s recognized as a featured post). However, the bottom right space still remained empty. I then reset the date back to its original old one. The result was that it didn’t display at all.

Then I tried changing from grid format to the slider to see what would happen. Again, it only displayed the first 5 featured posts.

Does any kind soul out there have a clue how to fix this?

The site is running a child theme of TwentyFourteen.

    Thanks!

After a few hours digging into the database, I discovered several errant entries in the wp_terms_relationships table. They had been given the term_taxonomy_id associated with the “featured” tag. Oddly, they weren’t even posts. They were pages! I have no idea how this could have happened. If anyone can solve this mystery, it would be very much appreciated! I’d like to be able to prevent this from happening again.

Anyway, I deleted those entries from the table, and that seemed to fix it. All six featured posts are now back in the grid.
