Twenty Twenty One theme issues

Recently got the WordPress 5.6 update and would have loved to have tried the new Twenty Twenty one theme.

However, when transitioning from Twenty Twenty, the menu looks awful, and included really long category descriptions which I can’t seem to turn off.

All in all, I went straight back to twenty twenty as it looks a million times better.

Any ideas why it messes with the menu?
