• Hi,

I’m currently editing Twenty Twelve theme for my site. I duped the menu as I need two menu’s a main and a sub menu. I’m currently working in Firefox and can see the menu button in the top left of each menu bar – it’s throwing out the menu itself making it revert to double the height. Is this normal and how do I hide the menu button when viewed in normal web browsers? I assumed the button appears when the site is viewed on a smaller device?

I’d really appreciate some help on how to get around the issue.

    Thanks

  • Don’t edit the Twenty Twelve theme. First create a child theme for your changes.

Thanks for that. I did edit earlier then had notifications of an update which I duly followed and poof… all edits gone. Kind of wondered how I might keep the theme updated if every time I updated this happened but your answer has helped. I’m not that familiar with child themes but reading a few paragraphs it looks simple.

Presuming if I reinstall, those buttons will disappear?
