[Twenty Twelve] Child Theme issues

Anyone?

Which files and what have you changed (or tried to)?

Also, bumping after an hour really isn’t cool here – these forums are entirely volunteer, so you may not get as fast an answer as you need…

Apologies, I was tearing my hair out.
I’ve added header, footer, single to the child theme. The alterations I made on the footer has worked, but nothing has worked on the header and single..
Just wanted to know if this is the right way of doing it. I’m new to child themes.

From your site and what you’ve said, yes, that should work. But it looks like you’ve created some mark-up errors so that might be relevant –

Ah, ok. Well I’ve managed to fix most of the errors. Not sure where to go from here.. Should I install a functions.php file?

But at the moment trying to get rid of the sidebar. I managed to do it when I wasnt using a child theme (I just added a couple // to cancel it out) but now that i’ve added the single.php to my child theme it doesn’t work
