• I have read this link about creating a child and followed the directions including the creation of a function.php and importing settings. I have read and followed a few posts such as this one about changing the child files to allow this. I’ve even done the horrible and changed the 604px to other numbers in the main stylesheet and nothing works to change the main page of becksimmons.permanent-revolution.com to be wider.

    Can someone please point out what I may be doing wrong?

    Thanks,
    Frustrated

  • Have you solved your issue as of yet? If not, I see the max-width: 604px for the <div> with class .entry-content, so no matter what, the width of this element will be 604px. I also see the width: 100% property. This will ensure the image will be it’s full size, but that’s the only content on that “row” of the element. Using the max-width: 100% is a trick to make the element kind of responsive, so when you re-size your browser the image will take up 100% of the screen/browser. It’s also worth noting taking away the max-width in pixels will reposition the other two elements. Probably not in a way you would want. Please let me know if you have any questions and if I’m making sense. Thanks!

    Thank you but now I am confused. Maybe I just don’t have the child configured right:

    Style.css
    /*
    Theme Name: Twenty Thirteen Child
    Description: Twenty Thirteen Child Theme
    Author: Tim Scott
    Template: twentythirteen
    Version: 1.0.0
    */

    /* =Theme customization starts here
    ————————————————————– */

    .entry-header-full,
    .entry-content-full,
    .entry-summary-full,
    .entry-meta-full {
    margin: 0 auto;
    max-width: 1110px;
    width: 95%;
    }

    full-width.php
    <?php
    /**
    * Template Name: Full Width
    *
    * This is the template that displays all pages by default.
    * Please note that this is the WordPress construct of pages and that other
    * ‘pages’ on your WordPress site will use a different template.
