twenty ten theme: changes to to menu not showing

Hi there,

I’ve made some modifications to the main menu of the twenty ten theme. I’ve changed colours, height, width, just simple things like that.

I can see the changes occur as I make them because I’m using web developer. Once I’m happy with my changes I do the simple process of copying and pasting the contents of style.css into the editor, then press ‘update file’.

The problem is the changes have no affect? For some reason the main menu reverts back to the original/standard look even though the style has been changed…

why is this happening?
