Twenty Ten – half of my footer is in italics

    I don’t know when exactly it occurred but suddenly the 3/4s of my footer is italicized. I’m using Twenty Ten and it has four widgetized areas in the footer. The first area is fine. The italics start halfway through the second area and continue through area three and four. Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Okay, I have found validators and run them but (sorry, I am very new to all this) where do I go to fix them? I gives me line numbers but so far I edited everything through the editor in WP. Can I do it here?

    Yes – you can edit your theme’s template files via Appearance/Editor.

    Thanks, I think I may have asked wrong.

    The errors show up as something like:

    Error 344

    The “a” element cannot be used here. It is nested in another “a” tag and cannot be nested. Has the previous “a” element been ended with an end tag? This element may be contained in “body”, “caption”, “td”, and “th”. This element may not be contained in “a”, “button”, and “table”.

    So, how do I know where to go to fix them. Will they all be in the stylesheet? or in various places I just have to go search for?

    Sorry, where it says ‘blog’ above it was supposed to show:

    You need to look before that piece of markup. The validator is suggesting that you have another, unclosed, <a> tag before it.

    right. I mostly get what it wants me to do to fix each error. I just don’t know where to find the errors – style.css, loop.php? I don’t know where to go. Line x, column x doesn’t tell me much. Any suggestions?

    So, I moved on from html validation and went strait to css and found my fix in my style.css
