    Hey there, I’ve had a good search but can’t quite find what I’m looking for.

    I’m using Twenty Ten on v3.0 and I’d like the homepage to list my most recent posts in excerpt format ie. not the whole post.

    Am I right in saying I can go into the loop.php file and just change all ‘the_content()’ to ‘the_excerpt’? I don’t want to run a child theme if possible as I’m currently sending instructions to developers in China and it’s quite a long winded approach to things – but out of my control unfortunately!

    That should do the trick, do the change in the loop.php in the line: 138, that’s for the frontpage loop.

    I would like to add excerpts to a page, not the main/index page. The home page will be used so visitors can quickly dive in and search for homes (real estate related, bit.ly URL – https://bit.ly/9xSVNI ). But I would like to setup a separate page to display excerpts of posts as one would normally do on the index page. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am an ‘intermediate’ blogger – I feel comfortable with php, and css mods. Thanks in advance.

    Hi all,

    after updating wordpress to 3.0.1 the excerpt format is not working anymore and wordpress shows the whole articles ??

    Does anybody have a solution for that?
