Twenty Fourteen: Images floated right escape container?

  • Using a child theme of Twenty Fourteen. Routine floats of images within articles seem to be behaving oddly. Images floated to the LEFT using the CSS class .alignleft all seem to work. But images aligned to the RIGHT using the CSS class .alignright appear strangely – they jump the container to the right, regardless of the margins or padding specified.

    I vaguely recall that there is a reason for this in Twenty Fourteen, but a look at the CSS on the page doesn’t immediately reveal anything useful.
