Twenty Fourteen Header doesn't show

While customizing the Twenty Fourteen theme, the new header shows and looks very nice. However, when I save/publish and log out to look at the site, the new header image is not there. I have adjusted the size of the image to fit the space and still nothing. There is a “image icon” where the Header should be. Can’t figure out what I’m missing.
