    I have no idea what I’m missing here, I just can’t seem to make my child theme work. This is what my style.css looks like atm:

    /*
    Theme Name: Twenty Fourteen Child
    Theme URI: https://www.www.remarpro.com
    Description: twenty fourteen child theme
    Author: Trim For Eldre
    Author URI: https://trimforeldre.net/
    Template: twentyfourteen
    Version: 1.3
    */

    @import url(“../twentyfourteen/style.css”);

    Shouldn’t this work? I’ve edited it several times to make sure everything is like it should. I also uploaded the functions.php which did nothing.

    But like I said a plugin would be totally fine – there are quite a few but this one seems to be widely used and good reviews:

    Hmm I think there’s a difference, because this worked. ??

    OMG! My eyes (and/or my brain) must really suck. I should have tried that right away – sorry :)!

    But awesome that it’s working now in any case!

    Hehe! What exactly did you do? Didn’t you just remove some of the lines in the stylesheet?

    I used files from another child theme I’d made for twentytwelve – changed the various bits for twentyfourteen. But I’m kinda thinking that something (invisible?) was messed up in your functions.php file – because I can’t see anything wrong with style.css and it wouldn’t likely cause such a major problem.

    But servers and caches (browser and server) can be weird sometimes so who knows.

    Weird.. Oh well, it works now so all is good. Thanks for the help! ??
