    Hello ^_^
My name is darius and I wanted to ask a question about the Twenty Eleven theme.
I am having a hard time trying to separate the Sidebar from the Posts, and the Posts from the posts underneath.
I would want my blog to look something like: https://greyscalegorilla.com/blog/
Notice how the sidebar and posts are separated by a black line (or cut out) ?
How do I do that? I am not very good at CSS editing so i would really really appreciate it if you guys could be specific about it <3

  • Do not edit the Twenty Eleven theme. It is the default WordPress 3.2 theme and having access to an unedited version of the theme is vital when dealing with a range of site issues.

Create a child theme for your customisations. Once your child theme is active, we should be able to help with the customisation.

Done. What do i do now? o.o

Start by using Firefox with the Firebug add-on to locate the CSS that you need to change. If you need CSS resources, see:

    thank you ^^ <3

I have browsed several threads on this topic, how to change sidebar color in twentyeleven. After trying myself with the CSS and looking at some solutions offered on forums. I have reached the conclusion that it is not possible to change the sidebar color in TwentyEleven without making major changes to .widget and entire layout.

The developers left no room for it. I am not sure if this counts as a bug. Since I am no expert, but I think it would be nice if some one with expertise looked into it and if thats the case then we can probably report it as a bug or find a detailed solution.
