Twenty Eleven – Menu and sidebars not working in IE

Hello,

I’ve searched the forums for this problem and it seems like a reasonably common issue. I set up https://nocturama.org for a friend using another theme, but she’s since had someone else install twenty eleven, and the site wouldn’t display AT ALL in IE. I deactivated the “Browser Blocker” plugin that had been installed, and the site is now showing in IE7+, but the menu and sidebar is now completely absent in IE7 and 8, and in 9 it appears at the top of the posts. (I am working on a Mac in FF9, testing using netrenderer.com

I’ve tried commenting out the search field as suggested elsewhere on this forum, but that hasn’t had any effect.

Can anyone help please?
