[twenty eleven] custom menu drop down not working on mobile

    Hi there

    I am trying am using a custom menu on my site: https://www.nadaav.com/n

    There is a drop down that comes from the “watch stuff” tab. It works fine on desktop versions of the site on chrome and safari (mac), but I have been testing it with mobile browsers – notably chrome on android, and the drop down doesn’t work. It appears when I touch “watch stuff”, but having touched “watch stuff” just opens that main “watch stuff” parent page, and the drop down disappears before I have a chance to select a page from it.

    Is there a way to make this work better on mobile/touch screens? Do I need any plugins to optimise WP for mobile generally, for example?

    Is wordpress suitable for mobile at all? Do I need a plugin or is there a css solution?

    You would be better off using the Twenty Twelve theme if the mobile market is important to you.

    Argh really? I have built the whole site in twenty eleven now!!!

    Is there another way to make twenty eleven work with mobile?

    Not unless you turn it into a new standalone custom theme and start investigating responsive design.

    Oh dear. are there plugins to help?

    You could try installing a mobile view plugin but that will, almost certainly, create a new mobile version of the site that is not based on your current theme.

    I am trying to install twenty twelve as per your suggestion, and seeing what I can do to make it look like the lovely way I had twenty eleven working, but have just had a disaster.

    Turns out I was unable to deactivate my current theme. On forum suggestions I have manually done it via FTP and now have no working site at all! Gasp.

    And am currently in mid panic.
