Tweeting links to non-existent pages
-
First of all, thanks for creating and sharing the plugin – it’s simple and efficient in premise. However, there seems to be a bit of a problem with it that should be resolved:
It tweets out random URLs that aren’t even real posts, with links to non-existent pages on our website. Here is the copy of 3 example tweets it sent out in a row:
1. Subscribe menu mobile – [reshare] {website}.com/news/subscribe-menu_copy/
2. Service Category – [reshare] {website}.com/?acf=acf_service-category
3. Hreflang – [reshare] – {website}.com/?acf=acf_hreflang
I suspect that use of the Advanced Custom Fields plugin is causing some of the confusion and the system mistakes a custom field for a post. There doesn’t seem to be a way to stop this. Also, that doesn’t explain the first tweet in my example above.
Any help from you on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
