I’m new to this plugin and am very impressed. You have an excellent eye for balance in design. This plugin really is fantastic. I would like to clarify something, though.

I did a test tweet and typed a lot of content to see if it would stop me once I’ve reached the 117 character limit. It just let me keep on typing, and when I published the post, the text that extended beyond the character count was replaced with “…”

This was expected, but nowhere does it allow the complete text I typed to be visible. I actually don’t want to exceed the character count, but for those who type more than the limit, it seems there should be a way for that full tweet to be visible.

It would be really helpful if your plugin would let me know when I’ve reached that limit. I’m still testing it out, but so far it seems the only way I’ll know where I’m at with the character count is to publish the post and see if part of what I’ve written is cut off.

Is there a way to let me know when I’ve reached the 117 character limit? Thank you!

    Thanks for the message.

If it were as simple as counting down from 117, I could just put a count based on characters entered. Unfortunately, the plugin uses much more sophisticated math to determine where to truncate, based on the length of the twitter handle (and whether or not you want to include the url and/or the via.)

If you don’t want to publish in order to check, you can preview the post to see if any truncation has occurred, and adjust accordingly.

Hope that helps, and thanks so much for your kind words!

Okay, that makes good sense. Thank you, Ben!
