Tweaking footer.php

  • I tech a blog on a domain I don’t own and the owner has placed GoogleAd scripts in the Header, footer and a sidebar Text widget.

    The theme is old, not to current coding practices and has compatibility issues with Buddypress (Atahusalpa) but supports adding html to header and footer.

    Looking to simplify and clean up, I installed ESSENCE on a test site (agonistas.com) and set it up as a chil theme in essence-child
    Built the sidebar text widget with GoogleAd code without a problem and got a simple, clean site.

    I then copied header.php to the child folder and inserted the GoogleAd code and it displays properly.

    I copied footer.php to the child folder and inserted GoogleAd code ahead of the your “Proudly powered by Essance Theme Framework” but not only does it not display, it kllls your message.
