Tutorial on How to Set- up and Install a Lightbox

Someone recommended WP Lightbox 2, in response to my statement of a need for a lightbox plugin that can be linked to from text or a button (not part of the gallery itself).
I really could use some additional advice, as I have searched for tutorials on the Plugin Homepage (a 404 error), on Youtube and by doing a Google search, but have had no luck.
I am hoping that someone could answer a few questions, as I am desperate to get this resolved.
1. Where does this code go? In the Text tab of the desired page? In the CSS or PHP files?
2. In image #1, am I supposed to use the actual text “images/image-1.jpg” or to I replace that with the URL of the image? For “lightbox” do I just leave the word lightbox in there, or substitute something else? For “my caption,” what do I do if I don’t want a caption?

image #3, do I actually type the word lightbox and then create a group name that goes within brackets where “roadtrip” is?
4. How do I assign text or an image to the link to make it a lightbox?Any assistance that you could render would be appreciated!
