Turning Off Subscriptions

  • If I deactivate the Subscriptions widget feature in JetPack, will that cause WordPress to stop sending post notifications or does it only stop new subscriptions?

    I am trying to migrate away from the JetPack Subscriptions widget because I cannot manage the list effectively. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

    No, Jetpack subscriptions are controlled by the subscriber. With the Jetpack Subscriptions widget off, you won’t receive new subscribers, but it will be up to the existing subscribers to unsubscribe themselves via the link in the email if they choose to do so.

    Thanks for the reply. Not sure I like WP having all the control over subscribers. I did learn that exporting a site and importing it to a new physical location will remove subscribers. The export feature does not port the subscriber list.

    Anyway, thanks for the clear answer.
