    Hi,

I just sent an email to support, but wanted to leave a 5 star review and this feature request as well.

I just reached my Tiny quota on accident because I did not know images were automatically compressed.

My support email reflects that further in detail and there is not obvious description in the settings that I see that lets us know that images will automatically be compressed. So I imported some basic default images in a local test site and now have reached my quota already.

Now (just thinking about this) when coming back to the plugin and looking at the screenshots, will unchecking all the image sizes to be compressed disable the automatic compression?

Even if so, I think it would be better to be able to select the image sizes I want to be compressed by have an option that turns on/off the automatic compression. This way I can keep my image size selections saved but turn off the automatic when needed.

And it would be nice to just see some text that tells me these images will be compressed on upload.

Personally I would like to disable the automatic compression and only manually compress images.

    Response and thoughts?

    Thanks for listening.

    Hi Noah,

Thanks for the nice review, and for the suggestions.

Do you have a case where you don’t want all of your images compressed?
We made the plugin with the idea that users shouldn’t have to think about their images anymore, and that the plugin would take care of making sure that the images are optimised for web usage. Therefore, we didn’t add such an option yet.

To answer your question, unchecking all the image sizes will indeed make sure that no image will be automatically compressed by our service.

If you can give us some further feedback as to why you would like to have more control over compressions, then we’ll certainly take your suggestions into consideration when we plan new changes to the WordPress plugin.

    Thanks again!
