• Good day ~

I turned off Comments, so that all future posts will not allow them. I went back to each post and changed it so that all comments were turned off. Annoyingly, “No Comments” still shows, and when a visitor clicks on that, they see at the bottom of the message “Comments are closed”. This is not very elegant.

But the bigger issue is how can spammers still get through, even though I have turned all commenting off?

Here’s an example of a post that just received spam:

How can they get beyond the “No Comments” message?

Thanks for any and all help.

  • Go to Discussion Settings and put their contact details in the blacklisted box.

If you want to remove that from your theme, see the following video for some pointers. Once you discover what code to remove, then you would just need to remove it from all files in your theme (single.php, index.php, archive.php, etc.) where it appears.
