Turn Paypal invoice ID as store invoice

  • Hi,

    Is there any existing extensions integrated pulling paypal’s Invoice ID into (to be) woocommerce store invoice number for buyer?

    I use all payment method by Paypal. It will perfectly resolve my invoice number concern if this can be achieved.

    Pulling paypal’s transaction ID for using in woocommerce store Invoice number will be also acceptable. Please advise. Thanks you!

    ORDER ID cannot be replaced, because this is the post ID.

    There are plugins which add a second ‘order number’ e.g. https://www.sellwithwp.com/customizing-woocommerce-order-numbers/ so it’s possible, but to use a PayPal TXN ID would require a custom version of this.

    The other issue is the TXN ID is not available from order creation, only when PayPal IPN returns. So this might cause issues for you.

    How about Paypal’s Invoice ID? Is it possible to pull it out for using in Woocommerce Invoice number? 2 in 1 unifying no more confusing and easy accounting management.

    WooCommerce sets the invoice ID. E.g. PREFIX-ORDERID

    Well thats a completely different topic. Changing those would require filtering on the args we pass to paypal. And that affects paypal invoice IDs only.

    Maybe you should get a developer to make a custom ID system for yourselves if the default is not good enough.

    Pull Paypal’s invoice ID is the best choice. Use same invoice ID (Paypal’s invoice and my store invoice) easier accounting management. Hope there is plugin can achieve it.

    But I just said WooCommerce defines the invoice ID? Are you seeing different invoice numbers to me, because I’m pretty certain that are in the format WC-ID ??

    Actually I just don’t want sequence invoice numbers. I believe there is plugin ready to use, but let me find out.

    I understand pulling paypal’s invoice ID is a big job, just skip it.
