Hundreds of people have complained about this for years. If Yoast don’t sort it out immediately I am going to sort this out with WordPress directly. Yoast are the only plugin which force you to see red notifications on sites. Its pathetic

    Hi @rthi,

    Thanks for your review.

We are sorry to hear you find the Yoast notifications annoying.

Yoast SEO plugin displays a limited set of notifications in the WordPress dashboard. The aim of these notifications is to help you identify issues affecting your website’s SEO and maintenance. For example, if you’re blocking search engines from indexing your website, Yoast SEO will warn you about this as this is a critical issue for your SEO.

Notifications that appear under SEO > General can be hidden individually by clicking on the crossed-out eye icon that appears next to the notification. These types of notifications shouldn’t prevent you from using the plugin normally, although we understand you’d like them to not appear in the backend.

You have received hundreds of complaints about this over several years. Nobody cares why these notifications are enforced. They care that they are enforced. You are the only plugin to enforce notifications. In fact you are the only product I can think of that doesn’t allow you to turn notifications off. Think about that for a second. Hiding them individually is clearly absurd. Can you let people who use your plugin be able to turn off notifications. This can be implemented in a day. This is being reported to WP in the meantime.

“Get yoast seo premium! Get yoast SEO premium!” Nagware is so bad i will NOT be getting the pro version and finally a competitor (rankmath) to use instead. Even imports my yoast SEO so nothing is lost in the transition. Not sorry yoast, I’m out.

So these are urgent notifications helping me identify issues are they?

“We see that you enabled automatic updates for WordPress. We recommend that you do this for Yoast SEO as well. This way we can guarantee that WordPress and Yoast SEO will continue to run smoothly together. Go to your plugins overview to enable auto-updates for Yoast SEO.

    Hide this item.
It looks like you aren’t using our Yoast WooCommerce SEO addon. Upgrade today to unlock more tools and SEO features to make your products stand out in search results.”

Turn your stupid notifications off. People complain about this almost every week. Read all the forums.

Today I got fed up with the useless Yoast notification in the admin bar as well and found this thread. Being that it’s apparently not optional to turn them off, I did figure out you can just remove their access to the admin bar. General > Features > Admin Bar Menu Toggle off.
