Basically i’m working on a school website which needs a staff resources page with access for staff only.

I don’t want parents registering and being given access through a login so I thought the best way would be to turn off registration completely and just have those registered wp members in the back end able to access the page.

Is this the best way to do it? If so where is the option to Turn off Registration to be found?
In settings I only see Hide Registration so “New User? Click here to register” is still on the page etc.

And if I can turn it off, I assume I think couldn’t have have another page elsewhere on the site that was restricted for parents unless they registered?

If that were the case further down the line, perhaps just moderating the emails would be preferable?

If you select “Hide Registration” and then in the WP general setting uncheck “anyone can register” then you have essentially removed any way for a user to register.

    Ok cool.

So is there a way to remove the “New Member? Click Here to Register” message on the login page? As that part isn’t on the Dialogue settings page.

    ..

And if I still wanted regular users to register to comment on my blog, what would be the best solution?
