Turn off Mobile Responsive

  • Hello,

    I am hoping you can help me. I would like to turn off the mobile responsive of the Preference Lite theme.

    I really love this theme because it gives me creative freedom without having to write code. I am designing a website for a client and would really appreciate the help.

    Hi Denise…unfortunately there is no off/on switch for this theme because it’s coded with responsive methods. In fact, I’m not aware of any responsive theme that has that kind of feature.

    Hi, can you help me. I was trying to turn off the mobile responsive option on preference light as it does not work with my content.

    I am a novice…..

    I am using table press and booking bug – both of which are not adjusting when I use a mobile with this theme. (these plugins have previously adjusted with other themes)

    Also my front page is loading rather unusually on a mobile – the titles overhang the page and the page only takes up 2/3 of the browser –

    Sorry I am not very good at explaining what I mean in technical terms, but I am sure that you will see what I mean when you look at my site….

    Any suggestions greatly appreciated as this is seriously affecting usability.

    @debsgt85….it sounds like you are also wanting to disable the responsiveness of the theme? Unfortunately as mentioned in my previous post, there is no on/off method for this as the mobile styling is coded into the theme.

    For the plugins you are using, I’m going to assume they are not responsive which is why you are getting that “overhang” of the pages.

    I do not need to switch the responsiveness off but I want to sort out my front page – if you look on my mobile site, the front page is a lot narrower than the other pages….. do you know why that may be?

    Hi Debbie….It’s your Venues table structure.

    Tables are not really responsive, or at least, very difficult to make responsive and to make them look half decent. The table is generated with your Table Press plugin, but if you need it responsive, you might want to contact the developer of the plugin and see if they have any suggestions for you because this is related more to their plugin.

    You may need to layout your Venue details in a different way without using tables…perhaps columns.
