I don’t seem to have a place for people to comment on my blog. I am not sure if this is something I did or something that happened when I upgraded to the new version of WordPress. I am using a child theme of twenty twelve.

I followed all the instructions in “turn comments on or off” but there is still no place to add comments and there was a few weeks ago, since I was getting a few back then. Wondering if one of my plug-ins is causing a problem. I am a complete amateur so I don’t even want to get in to anything complicated.

Thanks for anyone who can help.

I went in to edit, but I don’t see “allow comments” anywhere. (Believe it or not LOL)

If you do not see this pane, click Screen Options at the very top of the page and check “Discussion”.

That did it. Thanks so much. Should I also check “Allow trackbacks and pingbacks on this page” It is one of the options shown.

btw, I am suddenly receiving a lot of spam comments on my previous pages. I suppose anyone looking the support page picks up my site and spam-o.

    That did it.

You now need to do the same for each existing Post & Page.

Should I also check “Allow trackbacks and pingbacks on this page”

That’s not necessary for commenting but you would like to be notified when another site links to one of your Posts, then, yes, check this also.

Ok, thanks again. Guess I learn something new every day. If I live to be about 180 I might actually know something!
