Turn a WP site installed in subdomain to a subdomain network

  • Hello,

    We have installed a WP site in a subdomain: blog.domain.com

    We need to create several wordpress sites for different countries:

    ca.domain.com
    uk.domain.com
    fr.domain.com
    es.domain.com …

    The question is:

    Is possible to convert the WP site installed in blog.domain.com, maintain the domain, but serve the rest of subdomains?

    It is not possible to move the blog to the root folder, as we have another script running.

    To the best of my knowledge, you can only use subdomains if WordPress is installed in Root.

    No way to make the two scripts share, I take it? I mean, in theory, just use WP to make a static front page in root, and then call the other script, might suffice?

    Really a pity… the script in root is a magento store, and moving into a folder won’t be easy…

    The subdomain blog and rest of subdomains support the main store.

    Seems a bit confusing to have in root folder a magento and a multisite wordpress, isn’t it?

    No.

    the only way I can think of this being remotely possible is mapping the subdomains.

    The way multisite builds the URLs of each blog is it uses the URL of the base install to build the path.

    We are considering using two servers. One for Magento installation, and using main domain, and then, point all subdomains to a different server, with A record entries in the DNS management.
