• Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone has trouble getting Tumblirize to work in WP 3.3.1, or if anyone IS able to get it to work in WP 3.3.1… I just installed the plugin and got it all set up, but when I try to post, I got this error:

Tumblrize could access the Internet. Make sure you have a network connection, that Tumblr is online, or try again later.

Well, I know Tumblr is online (as I’m looking at it now); I also know I have internet connection (or I wouldn’t be able to post this). And of course, my WP post didn’t get crossposted to Tumblr…

Has anyone encountered a similar problem? I think this has been going one for at least 2 days — I’ve been trying to get this to work since yesterday…

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated… Thanks bunches in advance!

  • Having the same problem. Anyone know how to fix this?

    Ditto.

Yeah, I had to deactivate. Was getting buggy and then brought down my backend. Somehow created a redirect loop. I know I sound nuts, but that’s what happened. I mean, it didn’t REALLY create a loop, just screwed something up and that’s what the browsers thought.

Great program despite the bug! ??

I just tried to install Tumblrize on WP 3.3.1 with no success. Are there any other similar plugins? Cos I can’t find one…

I was using Social Discussions by LinksAplha, but they charge $4.99 a month for the Tumblr feature and my organization has concerns about google connecting our family of sites because they’re all in their cms.

So, is there anything out there like Tumblrize?

    Hi,

I’m sorry you’ve experienced problems using Tumblrize. Sadly, since the plugin was a labor of love, I haven’t had the wherewithal to maintain the now three-year old codebase.

Recently, Tumblr turned off version 1 of their API, and this means Tumblrize no longer works at all. The original developer has therefore officially announced end of life for the plugin. Neither of us have the time to continue maintaining the plugin and therefore have no plans to write an updated version or a replacement.

At this time, we know of no alternative for Tumblrize, and we apologize for the loss of this tool. However, if you or someone you know would be interested in maintaining a newer version of the plugin, you’re welcome to fork the codebase from GitHub and make whatever modifications you wish, provided you adhere to the software license.

Thank you for using Tumblrize and we hope you continue enjoying using WordPress and Tumblr. ??

    Cheers,
    -Meitar
