• I am modifying the “Daydream” theme. I’ve accomplished most of what I wanted, but there are two things I have not been able to find in the theme editor.

This will be easier to explain if you are looking at the site. It is DandelionLove.com.

I have a set of grayish vertical thingies (gradient?) – one on either side of my text. I want to widen them out to match the width of the header and footer.

I would also like to change the background color behind the text on all pages and posts.

Can anyone tell me where to edit those two things? I would appreciate any help you can offer.

  • that gradient thing is a repeating image… it’s basically not wide enough to go all the way over.

look at any images that are part of your theme.

Since that image is the background you can see, you can elect to either change it out, or recolour it when you resize it.

Hello, in regards to DayDream theme, I have tried unsuccessfully to install it from WordPress 2.7 directly from the background themes section and the bottom portion with categories and archives and tags is a mess. Please kindly let me know where I can get this theme, as searching Google and his website does not show me where I can get the theme itself.

I wonder if you have fixed this on your own already – because I just looked at your site and I see NO gradients at all, let alone gray ones. All I see if green background with a two column layout within a table measuring 995pixels and an inner table measuring 845pixels. All you need to do to widen the layout is adjust the table width from 845 to however wide you want it up to 995pixels.

@fbahram, your theme is set by a CSS wrapper, “div #wrapper” measuring 641pixels. Just change the styles.css and make the div wrapper however wide you want. Something between 800 and 900 pixels might be good.

Saurus, thanks so much. I actually went with another theme – Thematics – two columns. As much as I *love* the Daydream, I think having the search engine at the bottom of the page was also not very intuitive. Nonetheless, I may try it later. Thanks again!
