I am trying to set up/ test the software.

But, when I look at adding dropbox or google drive. I followed the instructions in the video to make an user name and secret code. But, the ones generated failed.

I did nto see how to make this work for Dropbox, so I did nto know where to start.

Any ohter documentation or ideas to help set this up?

    Thanks

  • For dropbox, you need to go into their app developers section https://www.dropbox.com/developers/apps and create an access token and secret to use with the XCloner Remote Storage Section->Dropbox area

Please check the XCloner logger from it’s Dashboard to see the exact error reported, feel free to share it here if you have further problems.

    Hello,
I dropped the googledrive. I did try dropbox though.

It worked and xcloner connects to dropbox.

    Thanks

    Joseph

I worked through the back up procedure. I can make a back up and it resides on the server.

But, the transfer to dropbox seems ot fail. Log says:
    [2019-04-09 18:33:27] xcloner_remote_storage.INFO: Transferring backup backup_www.eco2.ca-2019-04-09_03-26-sql-diff2019-04-08_00-00-730a9.tar to remote storage DROPBOX [“”] []
    [2019-04-09 18:33:26] xcloner_remote_storage.INFO: Doing DROPBOX remote storage cleanup for 60 days limit [] []
    [2019-04-09 18:33:26] xcloner_remote_storage.INFO: Creating the DROPBOX remote storage connection [“”] []

But, on the transfer page, I get a “internal server error”.

Where might I look to see what my server can not connect to Dropbox?

    Thanks

You are probably running into a server timeout when transferring the backup, i would suggest to setup a scheduled backup process to send the archive to dropbox based on a real server scheduler
