trying to upload my backup to my site

  • Night before last, I added the Better WP Security plugin. Things were going fine until they suggested that I change the “wp-content” name. When I did that, things shut down. I was able to go through FTP and delete some things, but I deleted more than I should so now the site is not right.

    Before I started I backed up the file. But now I am having a hard time learning how to upload it and get it back onto the site (this is a friends site that I work on). I contacted Dreamhost through their support to ask for my username and password because I think I have to go to mysql, and then the phpMyAdmin, but I put in the wrong username and/or password and can not get back in.
