Trying to update to latest version of WordPress

Hi. I’m trying to update to 4.4.1 I’ve pressed the “update now” button, which takes me to a new page telling me it’s downloading. It then seems to stall at “unpacking the update”. I know things can take a while but my latest attempt has taken 40+ minutes (went for a cup of tea). Anything I’m doing wrong? I know I could download and install manually, which will probably be the next step, but looking for the “easier” option! Thanks
