I posted a question titled: ‘Video bitrates and keyframes’ in How-to and Troubleshooting. A member called jeremyclark13 apparently closed the post and added ‘modlook’ to the tags. So I clicked on that new tag and got this opportunity to post something.

Yes, it was largely off-topic, but I do use WordPress and consider myself a reasonable forum participant, so I had hoped to tap in to the knowledge of other users here to try to understand something.

I don’t know where -this- post will show up, but I’m following the thread of yarn to find out. If ‘modlook’ is a separate forum, I’ll lodge a small complaint about having my original post closed. I know you want to keep a focus, but it still seemed rude without giving me further explanation.

In any case, I’ll live with it since this is a great community and service.

  • Tags are tags – and not forums.
If you look at the title of this topic, you will see it was published in the “Installation” forum (wrong).
Members can NOT close any topic.
“modlook” is a warning for moderators to take a look at the topic in question; anybody can add a modlook tag.

Yes, you were way out of WP territory. This is a WP support forum. Do not post “general knowledge” questions. They will be closed and/or deleted.

I’ve closed the topic… and I might even delete it, since it has nothing to do with WP. As an analogy: if you have a WP photoblog and you start asking questions about how to use your camera… it will also be deleted or closed.
    Now let’s move on.

well, I didnt read that post, but this post isnt even in the right place. ??

where oh where is the installation question?

Okay, sorry. For some reason the structure of this forum just hasn’t ‘grokked’ with me yet.

I’ll try to catch up. ??
