• Hello!

I’m trying to translate my Pinnacle website using the Polylang plugin, but i can’t get the string translation to translate my frontpage strings.

the strings are visible but translating them doesn’t work.

I have tried enabling debug mode in WP, but no log file comes up.
I have also tried other sting translation plugins with no hope ether.

    what do i do?

    Hi,
Thanks for reaching out! Apologies for the delay.
Is it only your front page strings that are not translating? Which strings specifically? Are they showing as translated in the backend? Have you cleared your cache?

    Kindly,
    Hannah

    Hi Hanna,

    Thanks for the answer!

The server cache has been cleared, and this unfortunately doesn’t seem to work.

It seems like they do translate in the backend some times in the input fields (which is kind of annoying), but nothing translates in the frontend sadly.

Hi Hannah, (sorry for misspelling before)

As of specific strings, nearly all on the frontpage:

    “Design og Kunsth?ndv?rk”
    “Siden 1995”
    “Vi K?ber”
    etc.

    Hi,
Apologies once again for the delay! Polylang will output your plugin as multilingual, but you also need a plugin that will translate your site. Such as Loco Translate. There you can translate these specific strings. Would this work for you?

    Kindly,
    Hannah

    Hi Hannah,

Polylang has a string translator, where I’m doing all the translations by hand. But nothing gets translated.

I’m already translating by hand on all the pages where string translations isn’t needed as it just creates an extra page, but Pinnacle doesn’t allow me to have multiple front pages so i need to string translate it.

Also couldn’t get loco to work translating the strings.

Since the strings gets translated sometimes on the backend, i was thinking that Polylang was working correctly.

I can try using both at the same time, but this just seems odd to me, as Polylang has fields to fill out for translating the strings.

    Hey,
I’ll chat with the developer and see what input he has. If you’re translating the strings manually I’m not sure why they wouldn’t be showing as such on the front end.
    Thanks for your patience!

    Kindly,
    Hannah

    Hi,
I can’t recreate this, using polylang string translation I can translate the home page elements that you set in the theme options panel.

Can you send screenshots showing your settings? Both in the theme options panel and in your polylang string translations.

I should also note that you can recreate these elements using Kadence Blocks in the block editor and build the page that way would remove the need to have to handle any controls through the polylang string translation tool.

    Ben

    @jbgerber I had the same problem….

All feautures of Polylang Pro worked like a charm except String Translation for Woo.

The reason was that the Default site Language (before Polylang installation) was… Lets say No1. After Polylang installation, i set as A default Language No2 (via Polylang)….
in this way woocomerce strings never translated! So i turned the default language back to No1 and this Fixed the issue… Hope it helps you cause, i also tried everything ??

PS: with different theme in my case!
