Convert HTML site to WordPress
-
I am trying to update a friend’s html site to a WordPress site. I have his html pages replicated pretty well as WordPress pages but am trying to take his reflections, which are updated several times a year, into blog pages. It seemed logical to to make each year into a post with several paragraphs.
I finally got one post with the correct image and background to go with the site. Replicating it back over a decade would not be practical as I can find no way to apply it as a template to a post. SO, I did what it seemed the reasonable thing and posted 2022. I then changed the page title to 2021 and the permalink to 2021, deleted the the 2022 text and pasted in the 2010 text and published it. I did this for several years. Closed out and when I went back to continue, the post I have is the last one I posted. The others are shown in that one as revisions. I have never had a problem with this kind of editing on pages. Is there some way to do all my posts and keep the look I want? I have tried every free blog template plugin I could find and can’t find any way to actually make and save a template except under Pages and no way to apply a template there to a Post.
I sure could use some help on this. Right now it’s looking like I will have to put over a decade of posts on a page.
Thank you!
