Trying to log in for the first time – getting blank screen

  • I installed word press but when I try to log in I just get a blank screen – ???
    When I go to my webpage (www.menandcats.com) the wordpress template shows up so it seems that the install was ok?
    Any suggestion? I’m so close – it’s so frustrating!!

    It’s me, the original poster, but with a different username because now I can not even log in to word press support.
    Yes I also get the login screen but when I log in nothing happens. I think it must be a problem with the mysql databse – I followed all the installation instructions, but I was unable to name my database wordpress or create a new one (I have one mysql dbase which has the same name as my domain name). I called my hosting service and asked them for help – they said 1.) they had never heard of word press (I told them it was one of the most popular blogging tools) and then 2.) they told me they didn’t support my SQL but that I didn’t need to change the database name.
    So – I am really being driven crazy, I don’t know how to fix this problem and I don’t know where to turn for support.

    I’d register and try to see if it worked for me, but you’ve got registration disabled, and you can’t log in and enable it….
