Trying to install new WordPress Blog under existing One

  • Hi
    I already have a working wordpress blog hosted by BlueDomain under the URL https://www.shearsmockford.com. This is installed at root level and works fine.

    I wanted to install a further blog in a subdirectory mockfordphotography and followed all instructions – creating a separate SQL database, editing the wp-config file and copying a full extract of WP into the mockfordphotography directory.

    My ooops moment has come when trying to now run the install.php file from a browser. Everytime I type what I believe is the correct URL to access the file I am simply bumped back up to the ShearsMockford.com file cannot be found page.

    I am using both https://www.shearsmockford.com/mockfordphotography/wp-admin/install.php

    and

    https://173.254.66.119/mockfordphotography/wp-admin/install.php as we have a fixed IP but cannot get the file to run

    I assume I am in .htaccess territory here but don’t really get how all this resolving works. Any help much much appreciated thanks

  • Where did you create a folder it needs to be in root folder and did you upload a fresh download of wordpress
