    Hi All,

I’m relatively (2 weeks of tinkering now…) new to WP…and only a few days on WordPress MU; however, I’ve made good progreas. I’ve successfully setup first a single WP account, then converted it to a MU enviornment. All this has been done on a temporary URL at my ‘shared hosting’ company.

So, I’m about ready to assign it an actual domain name. Here’s my dilemma. My website is https://www.localjobs.com and I want the new blog platform (MU) to be linked to from my site. I want to keep the domain name in the blogs name, which i would think means that I have to use a subdomain, like “jobs.localjobs.com” and assign that to the ‘primary’ MU blog.

My question: Can I do this…and use the subdirectory approach that I’ve already setup the MU under, so that essentially my blog would look like this:

    jobs.localjobs.com
    jobs.localjobs.com/charlottejobs
    jobs.localjobs.com/ashevillejobs

    etc. etc.

Is this workable or does it present some problems? Much thanks for the response.

Yes, you can install WP 3.0.1 in jobs.localjobs.com and go multisite in subdirectory structure with blogs/sites as you listed above. No problem.

Yep, that’s what I ended up doing. Works fine. Much thanks!
