Trying to create a syndicated feed on Livejournal

I’m trying to create a syndicated feed on livejournal for my blog (I have many users that come from LJ) and when I try to create a syndicated account on LJ using my RSS or my ATOM feed I get an error that its not XML formatted. Any help here?
